Agricultural Shipment Inclined at Port of Oakland

Volume Intensified by more than 40% at California port over past 4 years

It has been notified that the shipment of almonds is one of the driving forces behind the increasing volume of food products passing through Port of Oakland. The agricultural exports from the port of U.S. totalled 375,727 TEU containers in the year 2017, inclined 42.7% from 263,218 containers in 2013. As per the port data, the almonds were among the major export commodities from Oakland in the year 2017 whereas China, South Korea and Japan were listed as top three export destinations for agricultural exports. Location is one of the major reasons why Oakland is considered as core U.S. gateway to the overseas market, being the nearest port for farmers in California’s central, Salinas valleys and Napa.
