The solar industry in America installed 10.6 gigawatts of new photovoltaic capacity in 2017 as per the latest study conducted in the country. The non-residential market grew by 28% year over year, the 4th year in a row it observed annual growth.

The utility and residential scale sector moreover saw installations decline. Distributing the figures by states, North Carolina and California maintained their position as solar powerhouses in the country, installing the largest and second largest amount of capacity respectively.
