Walmart Inc’s patent filings indicates that it may see a future where farmers will utilize its drones to not only detect crop problems but selectively apply chemicals or even distribute pollen to bring shoppers the freshest and cheapest possible food.

Walmart – the world’s largest retailer applied for 6 patents last year related to drones that focuses to prevent damage to crops, cross pollinate the plants and as well as control pest attacks on farms, as per the U.S. Patents and Trademark Office documents that were made public last week and seen by Reuters.
