ARS Scientist Spearheads USD 1 Million Funded Group to Pursue Honey Bee Disease Control

Steven Cook – An entomologist at Agricultural Research Service (ARS) will be commanding a USD 1 Million funded international group of scientists in order to seek new controls for Varroa mites – the disease which is popular in honey bees.

Cook, with Bee Research Laboratory – a division of ARS’s Beltsville (Maryland) Agricultural Research Center, will be the core investigator of a group that will comprises of scientists from Spain, U.S. and Canada. ARS is the in-house research organization of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
